Celebrating 10 Years of Brotherhood

The Old Vandals Association has always stood for more than the walls of
Commonwealth Hall. As alumni of one of Ghana's most storied institutions, we carry a
responsibility to the wider Legon community and to the safety and security of all who
live, study, and work within it. That spirit of civic duty came alive in a meaningful way
when OVA made a significant equipment donation to the Legon Police District
Command.
As an association with deep roots in this community, OVA recognizes that security is a
shared responsibility. By equipping our local police with better tools, we invest not only
in law enforcement but in the peace of mind of every student, staff member, and
resident in the area.
The donation included a complete desktop computer set intended to support operational
work at the station. Police stations handle large volumes of administrative and
investigative tasks every day. Reliable equipment improves documentation,
communication, and response coordination.
This contribution helps strengthen the ability of officers to serve the Legon community
and the surrounding areas. It also demonstrates the practical role alumni groups can
play in supporting public institutions.
The initiative reflects the values that Commonwealth Hall has always promoted.
Old Vandals recognize that strong communities require collaboration between citizens
and public institutions. Supporting the local police command is one way alumni continue
to contribute to safety and development around the university.
The strength of Commonwealth Hall has never come only from its buildings. It comes
from the men who pass through its doors and choose to give back.
Projects such as sanitation refurbishment within the hall and community support
initiatives like the Legon Police equipment donation show that the Vandal spirit remains
active.
Old Vandals continue to invest in the future. They support students. They strengthen
institutions. They protect the legacy of Commonwealth Hall for generations still to come.
We are grateful to all members who contributed to making this initiative possible, and
we look forward to deepening our partnership with the Legon Police District Command
and other community stakeholders in the years ahead.
